How to say Happy Labor Day in Chinese - LingoBite

Labor day is coming up in China!!!Yeah!!!!
I’m sure you are all planning on taking a nice little holiday away from the your jobs! Problem is that everyone else has the same idea! All planes, trains and automobiles are going to be packed…so be ready for the crush!
So, before you go and chill out – learn how to say “Happy Labor Day” in Mandarin to your colleagues and Chinese friends, and learn a couple of words to shout out when you’re stuck in that tourist trap!~~~~
Happy Labor Day = 劳动节快乐 - láodòng jié kuàilè!!
The first part of this sentence, 劳动 (láodòng), is unique to the May Holiday, but the last 3 characters can be used for any other holidays or celebrations. Read on to learn more:
  • 劳动 (láodòng) means “Labor” and literally means “work and move”.
  • 节 (jié) – is the word for Festival, and you will also hear it in situations like the Spring Festival (chūnjié) and Qing Ming Festival (qīngmíng jié).
  • 快乐 (kuàilè) – means “Happy”, so Happy Birthday is 生日快乐 (shēngrì kuàilè) for example.
Now, if you find yourself in a busy tourist spot  – some of these Chinese words might come in handy:
  • There’s too many people here! 这里人太多了(zhèlǐ rén tài duō le)!
  • Don’t push me! 别挤我 (bié jǐ wǒ)!
  • Get me out of here! 带我离开这里 (Dài wǒ líkāi zhèlǐ)!
Plan your May Holiday trip wisely, and you won’t need these sentences :)
